Announcement: Drink More Wine!

Red wine that is! If you enjoy a glass of wine from time to time (in moderation of course) new research suggests that red wine may be beneficial for gut health which could lead to improved overall health. Past studies on red wine have shown the drink to be good for lowering cholesterol, improving heart health and controlling weight among other things. Now, we can add gut health to the list! Or so the research suggests.

“This is one of the largest ever studies to explore the effects of red wine in the guts of nearly 3,000 people in three different countries and provides insights that the high levels of polyphenols in the grape skin could be responsible for much of the controversial health benefits when used in moderation.” -Dr Tim Spector

There is still more research to be done but so far, it sounds promising! If your’e going to relax and have a drink this weekend in honor of Labor day might as well make it a glass of red wine! You can read the full article as well as the benefits of polyphenols in the links listed below. We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor day weekend! Cheers!
