Independently Owned Physical Therapy Practice Serving the Ewing and West Trenton Communities Since 1989

We pride ourselves in our unique one on one approach to care.  At Stoneking, we are different than other physical therapy practices. First, we don’t use extenders of care. Some example of these extenders are physical therapist assistants, aides and such. The same therapist treats you at each and every visit. As a result, this helps in building rapport and trust  with the patient. In addition, our approach helps in facilitating continuity of care.  A physician referral (such as from a family doctor, specialist, or primary care physician) is not a requirement.  With the exception of HMO health plans, most insurers embrace the concept of direct access to patients by physical therapists.  However, this does not replace your current medical team. This is because we communicate with them through regular evaluation and progress reports.

Physical Therapy and Wellness in West Trenton, NJ

The cornerstone of the Stoneking Physical Therapy and Wellness experience is simple. It is all about you! Our providers spend more time building an understanding of your health. This is compared to more traditional therapy practices. Ours is truly a different experience. The reason for this is your time with us is less rushed. As a result, we are more focused on positive outcomes, and less on the bottom line.

No Prescription or Referral Needed for Physical Therapy

Did you know that you don’t need to get a prescription or a referral from your physician for PT? We want to bring freedom of choice back into physical therapy. Even if your doctor said to see their in-house physical therapists. Just know that you have the freedom to go where you want to for care.

Physical Therapy in West Trenton

Our Philosophy

We want all of our patients to be well informed. In addition, we want our patients to feel completely comfortable about the care they receive with us. We acquire a thorough medical history at a patient’s first visit. We then conduct a complete physical exam before providing any treatment.

In addition, our therapists will discuss the patient’s goals during the initial visit. We apply a variety of techniques. Some examples include: soft tissue work, hands-on methods, and therapeutic exercises. A patient’s care may also include: cold, heat, or electrical stimulation as well as ultrasound. The number of visits each patient needs varies greatly. Each patient is reevaluated by a therapist on a continuous basis.
